BillGates was born in Seattle, Washington in the year 1955. Discussion

BillGates accidentally started Microsoft in 1976 upon coming into acontract with Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry systems (MITTS). Inthis particular contract he was given the task of developing afundamental operating system for their emerging computers. In theseinitial days he used to analyze all coding lines. He was also part ofall Microsoft’s trading for instance sending off orders as well aspacking (Jeanne,2000).

Microsoft’sturning point was in was in 1981when they were tasked by IBM todevelop a robust principal operating system for their emerging microcomputers. In the 80s it was IBM that was the market leader in themanufacturer of personal computers. However, with time the marketwas flooded with so many IBM pc clones. Microsoft decided to go theextra mile and sold its operating system to all existing players inthe market. As the pc market was booming so was Microsoft’s holdon the market as the leading software manufacturer (David,2001).

BillGate’s led Microsoft released its Windows version in 1991 markinga very important breakthrough in the market’s operating softwaresince it substituted text interfaces with more clearer graphicalinterfaces. It became the best seller and has since then captured100% of the market’s share of the operating system. Windows 95 wasreleased in the tear 1995 and set an unprecedented attainment interms of features and thresholds for operating systems. It is thiswindows version that has been the foundation of all other latterreleases including Windows 2000, XP, Vista and even Windows 2007,2008 and 2010.

BillGates has over the years diversified the company’s businessplatform. For instance his company’s 9nternet explorer has beendominating the web browser market majorly due to the fact that itcomes already installed in the operating system. In terms ofbehaviors Bill Gates is very innovative. His style is that of alibertarian kind of leader with a hands free kind of approach toissues His situation analysis indicates that he is always at theright place at the right time in terms of product innovation. Histrait is that of a focused leader while his power is in keeping intouch with exponential results (David2001).
