Acontract of employment shows the relationship between an employer andan employee. It shows the duties of the employee to the employer andthose of the employer to the employee. The contract also outlineswhat is to be done if one of the party does not adhere to it. Theprocedures of termination are also present if it is to be terminated(Helewitz, 2010).

1.Employment Commencement

Employmentwill initiate on ……..(date) and will continue until terminated asby the termination clause.

2.Job description

Thiswill contain the type of job i.e. engineer, drive, etc. theplacement of the employee i.e. his working station and the duties ofthe employee of a specific post.

3.Compensation

Theemployee will be rewarded a salary in cash or by cheque of $……..on …….(date) of the month.

Theemployee is also entitled to the following allowances

3.3The employee is also entitled to compensation on overtime. This isworking beyond 8 hours a day.

3.4The employer will review the employee’s salary upon confirmationin the employment and on a yearly basis.

4.Working hours/days/overtime

4.1the working hours will be 8 hours a day

4.2the working days will be five days a week

4.3the rest days are Saturdays and Sundays

4.4overtime will be only when agreed or authorized by the twoparties.

5.Annual leave

5.1An employee who has worked for three months is entitled to …….daysof paid leave.

6.Sick leave

6.1All employees are entitled to a paid sick leave no exceeding

6.1.120days a year if there is hospitalization

6.1.2 90 days including the 20 in 6.1.1 if there is hospitalization

6.2I the first three months employees are not entitled to a paid sickleave. All sick leaves taken within this period is to be consideredunpaid leave.

7.Maternity leave

Allfemale workers are entitled to a maternity paid leave of 16 weeks.The time of the leave is to be distributed as

7.14 weeks before the delivery of the baby

7.212 weeks after the delivery

8.Deductions from the compensation

Theemployer is not to deduct anything from the employs compensationother than those provided for in the Employment act or by a courtorder.

9.Termination of contract

Eitherparty in a months’ notice or the salary to be paid in place of thenotice may terminate the contract.

10.Insurance

10.1If an employee gets injured while performing his service the employeris to pay a certain amount to him as per the law

10.2The employer can take multiple policies to protect himself againstany loss caused by employees he has employed.

11.General

Changesto this contract will only be legally valid if they are in writingand agreed and signed by both parties
